ABOUT THE FACULTY

We train psychologists, pedagogues, sports teachers and kinesiotherapists who work directly with people — in offices, classrooms, sports facilities and hospitals. Small group sizes mean that professors know your progress and can answer any question.

At the Faculty of Medicine of UVVG, professors know you by name. Small groups mean real access to teaching staff, personalized answers and continuous guidance throughout your studies — the opposite of anonymity in large universities. Founded in 1996, the faculty has grown organically around a single principle: that good medicine is learned alongside people, not in overcrowded lecture halls. From the first General Medicine program in Romanian, the offering has expanded with programs in English and French, attracting students from over 30 countries. Today, the Faculty of Medicine is the backbone of UVVG — with three active departments, an accredited doctoral school in Medicine and Biology, and a teaching staff that combines clinical practice with high-performance research.

Prof. Dr.

Speranța Milancovici

Dean

“Our faculty trains people who care for other people. This requires not only knowledge, but also empathy, resilience and vocation — qualities we consciously cultivate in every year of study.”

The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Physical Education and Sports brings together disciplines that focus on the human being — from psychological, educational, linguistic and physical perspectives. Our programs combine theory with field practice, in partnership with schools, hospitals, psychological offices and sports clubs in Arad and the region.

Students benefit from an academic environment where they are personally known by professors, can participate in research and engage with the community from the first year. The degree obtained at UVVG is recognized in Romania and the European area, opening careers in education, health, performance sports, translation and security counseling.

“I encourage young high school graduates from Maramureș to enroll in our programs. A familiar, warm and friendly academic environment, experienced teaching staff — and the same diplomas as anywhere in the country.”

“Pharmacy is not just chemistry. It is responsibility toward the person who comes to the counter with a prescription and a fear. Our students understand this before they finish their first year.”

Faculty Mission

The faculty trains specialists in social-human, sports and educational fields, through accredited programs that integrate scientific research and applied practice. Graduates contribute to community well-being through competencies in psychology, pedagogy, kinesiotherapy and physical education.

Mission – to train competent, ethical and empathetic specialists in social-human fields, physical education and kinesiotherapy — capable of contributing to individual and community well-being, through education, research and responsible professional practice.

Vision – a faculty recognized regionally as a training center for professionals working with people — psychologists, pedagogues, kinesiotherapists and coaches — who integrate science with humanism and practice with critical reflection.

Strategic Objectives – Continuous updating of curricula in dialogue with the labor market. Expansion of the network of partner institutions for internships. Increasing research visibility in BDI and ISI indexed journals. Strengthening master’s programs as advanced professional training.
