A UNIVERSITY ANCHORED IN THE COMMUNITY

The Satu Mare Extension was born from the conviction that young people in the county deserve to study at home, without having to leave for major university centers. This conviction belongs, equally, to the founding rector of UVVG, the late Prof. Dr. Aurel Ardelean, and to the one who effectively laid the foundations of Satu Mare’s university education in 1997 and gave it identity — the late Prof. Dr. Gavril Ardelean, vice-rector of the university and the first director of the Satu Mare branch.

The mission has remained unchanged: a university close to the community, with professors who know you, with programs that respond to the real needs of the labor market in North-West Romania. Not a distant campus, but an institution anchored in local reality — with partners from the economic and educational environment in Satu Mare, with students who work and study at the same time, with graduates quickly integrated into the labor market.

Today, the extension operates in two of its own buildings on Mihai Viteazul Street and Ștefan cel Mare Street, with its own teaching staff, with ARACIS-accredited programs, and with the same rights and opportunities for students as in any UVVG campus in Arad.

Many of our students are already working in the field when they enroll. Those who do not yet have a job find one faster than expected, because we know the employers in the county and they know our graduates.
