We prepare individuals who know how to teach.

The Department for Teacher Training provides initial and continuous training for teaching staff — from the first steps in their career up to the Grade I teaching qualification.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

  • Continuous development of the quality of the educational process, quantified by students’ learning outcomes

  • Professionalization of future teaching staff and equipping them with psycho-pedagogical competencies

  • Optimal and successful implementation of training programs

  • Applied scientific research in education conducted by department members

The mission of the Department for Teacher Training is to ensure quality and excellence in the educational endeavor through a competent managerial program, in accordance with national and European standards — with teaching staff possessing didactic and research experience and modern material resources.

DPPD attracts students and professors from various faculties and specializations, of different ages, who possess in-depth knowledge of educational issues. This diversity provides the department with a unique potential to strengthen ties between faculties and transform the university into a center of education and culture.

Leadership and Organization

DPPD is led by a Faculty Council composed of the department director, the head of the department, the scientific secretary, a teaching staff member, and a student. The department has one chair within its structure: the Chair of Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, and Applied Didactics.

Assoc. Prof. Dr.

Vasile Pop

Department Director

“The fact that the Department for Teacher Training attracts students and professors from different faculties and specializations, of various ages, who possess in-depth knowledge of educational issues, explains the potential of this institution — to strengthen ties between faculties, to enhance connections with other educational institutions in the county and neighboring areas, transforming the university into a true center of education and culture.”

“I urge young high school graduates from Maramureș to enroll in our programs. A familiar, warm, and friendly academic environment, experienced teaching staff — and the same diplomas as anywhere else in the country.”
