Why choose to study Applied Modern Languages?

If you speak one language well, you are useful. If you speak two and know how to translate, mediate, and communicate professionally across cultures, you become indispensable. The Applied Modern Languages programme at UVVG Arad prepares you for exactly that—not only to master languages, but to use them effectively in real-world contexts in business, diplomacy, education, and culture.

You choose a combination of two languages from English, French, and German. You study them at an advanced level—B2/C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)—and apply them through written and oral translation, linguistic mediation, documentation, desktop publishing, and institutional communication. You do not just sit in class listening to theory: professional placements in companies and public institutions are part of the training.

If you want to become a teacher, you can take the optional psycho-pedagogical module in parallel, which opens up a teaching career. If you want to work abroad or study at a European university, Erasmus+ scholarships are available from the first year.
