Why choose to study Biology?

Biology is not about memorizing Latin names. It is about understanding how life works—from molecule to ecosystem—and using this understanding to solve real problems in medicine, the environment, or education. The Biology program at UVVG Arad, within the Faculty of Medicine, trains you as a specialist with a solid foundation in the biomedical field, capable of working in laboratories, research, or the education system.

During the three years of study, you cover both fundamental disciplines—cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, ecology, botany, zoology, anatomy, and physiology—as well as investigation and modeling methods specific to modern biology. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory work and specialized internships.

Upon graduation, you are qualified to work in analytical laboratories, fundamental and applied research, the pharmaceutical industry, or in the pre-university and university education system as a biology teacher. The program also provides a solid foundation for continuing studies at the master’s and doctoral levels in biomedical fields.

Why choose to study this program at UVVG?

  • Small study groups—you have direct access to faculty members active in research; you are not just a number in an auditorium of hundreds of students

  • Training in a biomedical context—the program is hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, which means access to infrastructure and an academic culture oriented toward clinical and laboratory applications

  • Diverse specialized internships—placements in specialized laboratories, research institutions, and educational units in the region

  • Degree recognized in the European Union—access to the labor market in any member state

  • Access to Erasmus+ mobility programs—academic placements at partner European universities

  • Opportunity to continue studies at the master’s and doctoral levels, including in adjacent medical fields
