Why choose to study Institutions of Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law?

The master’s program in Institutions of Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law aims to deepen the study of civil law institutions, civil procedural law, family law, and private international law, both from a theoretical and practical perspective.

The varied and rich case law in the field—and the often contradictory solutions of the courts—require an in-depth approach to jurisprudence. At the same time, legislation is subject to continuous transformations, designed to address issues identified in practice and the requirements generated by Romania’s accession to the European Union. The program integrates debates on these legislative and jurisprudential developments.

Through the fields addressed, the master’s program pursues both the dimension of scientific research—developing skills in analyzing legal norms—and the practical-applied dimension, through direct work with real cases from judicial practice.

The master’s program in Institutions of Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law aims to deepen the study of civil law institutions, civil procedural law, family law, and private international law, both from a theoretical and practical perspective.

Why choose to study this specialization at UVVG?

  • Real jurisprudential depth—you work with recent cases and decisions, not textbook examples

  • Integrated European legislation—the curriculum follows developments in EU law with direct impact on Romanian civil law

  • Practitioner faculty—active civil lawyers, notaries, and judges bring the week’s case law into the classroom

  • Small groups—debates are real, not monologues; each master’s student works on their own cases

  • Dual dimension—theory and practice in equal proportions, with emphasis on immediate applicability in the profession

  • Recognition as training period in legal professions—magistracy, law practice, notary

  • Erasmus+ mobility for master’s students—academic placements at European law universities
