Why choose to study Laboratory Analyses Used in the Biomedical Field?

The Master’s programme in Laboratory Analyses Used in the Biomedical Field prepares you to work where biology and medicine meet: in laboratories that provide the data doctors use for diagnosis and treatment. You do not study theory alone. You learn to carry out and coordinate activities in biomedical analysis laboratories—using validated methods, under the guidance of teaching staff actively involved in research.

The training is interdisciplinary and applied: you combine rigorous knowledge of biology and biomedical sciences with research methodology and practical laboratory skills. At the end of the two years, you will be able to assess and interpret laboratory analyses, coordinate teams of specialists, and contribute to research in the field.

Practical training in specialised laboratories and access to applied research in the biomedical field are an integral part of the programme, not optional extras.

Postgraduate training with immediate applicability. The specialist trained through this programme has a foundation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that enable them to carry out and coordinate activities in biomedical analysis laboratories—both in the public and private sectors. The curriculum is designed in line with labour market requirements in Romania and the EU.

Why choose to study this specialisation at UVVG?

  • Small groups—genuine individual guidance, not anonymous classes with dozens of master’s students

  • Practical training in biomedical analysis laboratories—apply immediately the methods you learn

  • ARACIS-accredited programme—a degree recognised within the national qualifications system, compatible with European requirements

  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary training: molecular biology, bionanotechnologies, research methodology, laboratory management

  • Teaching staff with research activity at national and international level—teaching from what they do, not only from what they know

  • Access to Erasmus+ mobility programmes—exchange of experience with partner European universities

  • A natural pathway after a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related fields—deepen your knowledge and specialise in clinical applications

Where you can work after graduation

Graduates of the programme integrate into the labour market in Romania and the European Union in a particularly dynamic field. Jobs are available in both the public and private sectors.

  • Public and private testing laboratories

  • Hospitals and outpatient clinics

  • Consultancy services in specialised units

  • Preventive medicine units

  • Biomedical research institutes

  • Universities and educational institutions

  • Government organisations and NGOs

  • PhD in Biology or Medicine

  • Pharmaceutical companies

  • The bio-nanotechnology industry

  • Technology transfer to the business sector

  • European projects in the field

The mission of the programme is to train specialist biologists in the biomedical field by developing a functional system of knowledge, competencies, and skills specific to the field, as well as by shaping attitudes that enable continuous and effective adaptation to changes in the healthcare system. Creativity and professionalism are core values for both teaching staff and master’s students—in both research and teaching activities.

  • Comprehensive application of biomedical concepts and methodologies for solving theoretical and practical problems in analytical laboratories

  • Evaluation, interpretation, and communication of results from biomedical scientific studies to decision-makers and the general public

  • Developing strategies in the biomedical field and applying specific legislation for laboratory activities

  • Coordination of laboratory activities and management of human and material resources in public and private specialized units

  • Developing research projects in Biology/Medicine using innovative quantitative and qualitative methods

  • Transfer of biomedical knowledge to diverse economic and healthcare sectors: biomedical services, bio-nanotechnologies, pharmacy
