Being a primary school teacher does not mean transmitting information. It means shaping children—cultivating their curiosity, building their confidence, helping them become good students and, furthermore, good people. The Primary Education Pedagogy program at UVVG Baia Mare prepares you to do exactly that, with solid training both in the classroom and in front of the class.

During the three years of study, you will combine fundamental disciplines of child psychology, pedagogy and didactics with specialized disciplines—methodology of teaching Romanian language, mathematics, sciences, arts in primary education—and with pedagogical practice placements in partner schools in Baia Mare. The curriculum is developed in accordance with ARACIS standards and includes compulsory, optional and elective courses.

Upon graduation, you are qualified to work in the public or private primary education system, as a tenured or substitute teacher, or to continue your training in the Educational Management master’s program within the same faculty.

The mission of the Primary Education Pedagogy study program is professionalization in the field of Educational Sciences through the development of a functional system of knowledge, competencies and skills specific to the field and specialization, as well as the formation of a system of attitudes that allow continuous, timely and efficient adaptation to changes related to pre-university education.

  • Designing instructional or educational programs adapted for various age levels in primary education

  • Evaluating learning processes, outcomes, and progress achieved by young students

  • Self-evaluation and continuous improvement of professional practices and career development

  • Carrying out activities specific to the instructional-educational process in primary education

  • Counseling, guidance, and psycho-pedagogical assistance for various categories of educational groups

  • Effective communication with students, parents, and the school community in diverse situations

Specialized Competencies

  • Designing and implementing instructional-educational activities in accordance with current curricula (grades I–IV)

  • Applying active and interactive teaching methods adapted to young school age

  • Objective evaluation of academic progress based on clear and transparent criteria

  • Organizing and facilitating extracurricular activities for primary education students

  • Counseling parents and collaborating with the school team in supporting students with special needs
