“Vasile Goldiş” Western University of Arad pays more attention to research projects. Within the university we have a lot of completed but also ongoing projects. These projects are both national and international, collaborating with various partners such as: Children Alliance of Development in Bulgaria, Youthnet Hellas in Greece, The Center for Continuing Learning in Chojnice in Poland and many others.
At the institutional level, research is coordinated by two vice-rectorates: international research and national research, which are subordinated to the Research and Technology Transfer Department and the Project Office.

Fulbright Scholarships in the USA
The United States annually funds Fulbright scholarships for young people from abroad, including Romania, who want to earn a master’s or doctoral degree from an American university.
The Fulbright program offers scholarships in the United States, in the next academic year, for those who want to pursue a master’s degree or for those who want to obtain a doctorate from an American university, in almost all fields, including arts, except medicine. .
These scholarships are awarded to students in Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa, the rest of the Americas and South and Central Asia.
Fulbright bears the costs during the years of study. Scholarships generally cover tuition, books, travel tickets, pocket money and health insurance. The program is administered by the Fulbright Commissions or the United States Embassies in the countries that are accepted. All applications of foreign students are evaluated by specialists from these institutions.
Fulbright scholarships are valid for a variety of disciplines and fields, including the visual arts, natural sciences, mathematics, engineering and technology. Fulbright encourages young people not to be limited to one discipline, but to apply in all areas.
The program does not offer diplomas to those who want to study medicine or to those who want to specialize in medical research, but supports global health.

Fulbright Scholarships and Grants
The Fulbright Student Awards are offered to undergraduate, master’s or doctoral research graduates at accredited American universities. Candidates are selected on the basis of an open and deserving competition to participate in high quality programs in any field, except clinical medicine. The program offers participants the opportunity to come into direct contact with US higher education institutions, American society and culture. The duration of the grant is one academic year. The period in which applications can be submitted is from the beginning of February to the beginning of May.

The Fulbright Senior (Postdoctoral) Awards are offered to Romanian professors, researchers and professionals for postdoctoral study and teaching opportunities in the USA. It can be applied in any field of study, except clinical medicine. The duration of a grant is six months. Applications can be submitted from the beginning of May to the beginning of November.

The SIR Fellowship provides opportunities for scientists, graduates and professors from outside the US to teach at American universities for one academic year.
