The mission of the master program “Forest Management and Marketing” is to develop the baggage of formal and informal knowledge of master students, to integrate them through original research projects to the general awareness effort on sustainable forest management in market economic conditions, rational use of wood and the global danger of degrading forest biodiversity. In achieving the mission and objectives of the master’s program, the collaborations and scientific partnerships made with academic institutions in the country and abroad will be fruitful.
OBJECTIVES
This master’s degree has the task of preparing staff, who, overcoming the intrinsic problems of each discipline, to be prepared to perform cross-border concepts by synthesizing the knowledge of several disciplines and elaborating complex projects. In the field of forestry, which has as object of work the “forest” ecosystem with a vegetal and an animal component, the objectives and the profile of competencies developed in accordance with the needs identified on the labor market and with the national qualifications framework.
If the undergraduate studies aim to acquire the competence to execute projects of current use, respectively the elaboration of projects and studies, harvesting of forest products, correction of torrents, improvement of degraded lands, topometry and cadastre works, operation of the machine system a., the master’s degree aims to move from executive skills to conceptual skills, the development of complex projects and studies, which bring together several disciplines or fields, the development of programs, regulations, instructions, regulations, strategies, superior interpretation of data including with the statistical-mathematical and informational instrument, of occupying some leading positions, of activity in the field of education and research, opening the way in a unitary conception and towards a higher level, of training through doctoral studies.
SKILLS
Instrumental skills
- fundamental theoretical and applied knowledge necessary for solving the dysfunctions that manifest at the level of the forest fund;
- capacity for analysis and synthesis and interdisciplinary approach to destructive phenomena;
- the ability to diagnose and forecast and implement policy strategies under EU regulations.
Interpersonal skills
- training and development of empathy capacity in various psychosocial situations;
- ability to understand the specifics of different psychosocial interactions;
- the ability to analyze the different interactions, as well as the factors that determine their specificity and their influence on the activity of individuals, groups, communities;
- forming a behavior in accordance with the principles of deontology.
Systemic competencies
- the ability to collaborate / cooperate with other specialists in conducting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies;
- the ability to adapt to the dynamics of concrete situations of destructive phenomena;
- forming a global vision on the evolution of the forest fund in order to understand the interaction between the different domains of reality and the interinfluence between them.
