BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION IN TOURISM AND SERVICES
The Master of Business Administration in Tourism and Services aims to provide a solid scientific training, in the sense of interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary deepening of this field of study and professionalization, in the sense of acquiring professional skills developed in fields as specialized as tourism and services. At the same time, this programme aims to specialise higher education graduates in the fields of tourism and services by acquiring solid theoretical knowledge and developing practical and research skills that will ensure their access as professionals to the labour market, capable of evolving in both national and international contexts. The motivation for training young graduates in the field of tourism and services is generated by the requirements of Romanian and foreign companies that have become aware of the need to hire professionals ready to face the challenges of the European market.
OBJECTIVES
The general objective of the programme is to train cognitive skills and abilities in the field of business administration that will provide the students with the possibility of professional involvement in the analysis of situations and decision making, both for the efficient development of economic activities and for the development of new businesses and poles of technological and economic development.
The specific objectives of the Masters programme Business Administration in Tourism and Services:
- to develop the skills necessary to provide consultancy services in tourism and services business management;
- development of managerial skills in tourism and services;
- updating and developing knowledge by studying relevant issues of interest to those who wish to further their career in tourism and services, or who wish to start a career in this field.
SKILLS
General skills:
- strategic planning in tourism and services;
- substantiation of the business plan, specific strategies, plans and programmes, procedures for implementation, and identification and implementation of corrective measures in order to achieve the planned objectives in the best possible way;
- identifying the overall implications of tourism and service development;
- analysis of risk and uncertainty in the tourism and services economy;
- development of projects to implement tourism facilities;
- the ability to assess and analyse restrictive international requirements in relation to consumer and environmental protection.
Specific competences and skills:
- ability to analyse the global context of tourism and services and the implications of globalisation on global and regional economic development;
- use of the main programmes in the field of tourism and service management;
- the ability to ground methods of planning, design and implementation of physical infrastructure contributing to the development of tourism facilities at micro and macro-economic level;
- the ability to assess the internal and external environment of an organisation in a dynamic and changing environment;
- the ability to have a global and strategic vision of management and marketing methods deriving from the new Internet era, in order to improve the competitiveness of services and destinations,
- the ability to design and initiate research projects in tourism and services and to extend their critical vision of research methods;
- the ability to analyse issues related to optimisation of resource use, transport optimisation, simulation and planning of activities, organisation of production, mitigation of risk and uncertainty;
- the ability to prepare feasibility studies, design and manage investment programmes in the context of efficient use of resources and environmental protection.
